ReplyDeleteThesis: Beauty is an unclearly defined term and yet we are innately fascinated with all things beautiful and are even bombarded with created definitions of beauty from the media. Beauty however is defined in countless ways all over the world, and the statement “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is supported by cultures differing definitions of beauty around the world.
Main Point I:
Beauty can somewhat be defined scientifically. What features make a “beautiful face?” (Appealing and attractive traits that an individual labeled “beautiful” would possess.)
I will talk about the symmetry of faces, and studies that have been done to determine what beautiful is and how we are genetically programmed to identify beauty for mating purposes.
Main Point II:
Beauty around the world. Countries definitions of beauty differ from one continent to the next.
I will talk about characteristics that the US, China, Japan, India, South America and Africa find beautiful and how they differ. I will talk about beauty in more of a cultural standpoint and emphasize ways in which people attempt to achieve beauty.

For my visual aid speech, I want to talk about the history and evolvement of cartoons- from Walt Disney's vision starting with Snow White, to Pixar 3D graphics today. I think this will be a good and interesting topic for a visual aid speech because the audience can virtually see the evolvement and evolution of cartoons.
